About My Workshops!
I have been asked several times, what is a workshop, how do I hold a workshop, what is a 'stamp class'. I thought I would make it simple and add it to my blog.
About My Stampin’ Up! Workshops
What is a Stampin’ Up! workshop? A Stampin’ Up! Workshop is an fun event; usually held in a hostess’s home or other suitable building; where those who attend get to play with stamping and scrapbooking supplies! It’s a great way to learn about Stampin’ Up! products or try your hand at new techniques, making cards, scrapbook pages, gifts, or other paper crafting projects.
What is needed for a workshop? A hostess (you!) and guests (your friends and family), a demonstrator (me!) I bring the prepared project supplies and lots of fun ideas, not to mention beautiful catalogs for your guests to browse.
Why would I want to hold a workshop? It’s a fun time spent with friends and family in the comfort of your own home creating beautiful projects. However, the best benefit is earning FREE Hostess Dollars (with qualifying workshop orders) which are used to purchase specially priced EXCLUSIVE hostess products (or any other item available in the catalog). I’m also available as a personal shopper, advisor, coach and friend. There is no need to go out hunting for supplies, I come to you. And, all Stampin’ Up! products are held to a high quality standard.
“Okay, I’m interested, tell me more” There are many different workshop options, each tailored to what the hostess desires. After the workshop is booked, I assist with the planning. The hostess is responsible to invite guests and have some simple snacks on hand. I also suggest reminder phone calls to guests 1-2 days before the scheduled workshop. My job is to bring everything needed for the workshop projects, conduct the workshop in a fun, relaxed manner and (best of all) clean up afterward. My Stampin’ Up! workshops last about two hours…one hour for make and takes and another hour for demonstration and ordering. Stamp sets used can either be from my personal Stampin’ Up! collection or ordered by the hostess. If stamp sets are ordered for the workshop, the hostess will keep them afterwards. Projects can be anything desired. I suggest keeping it simple, nothing too complex, in order to finish within the workshop timeframe.
Workshop Types:
“Try It Out” Workshop: Designed for the person who has never stamped, this hands-on workshop allows guests to try different stamping techniques and create one simple make and take card. (Cost is FREE!)
Demo and Make & Take: Traditional workshop where Stamping Up! products are used for different stamping techniques. Everyone attending the workshop makes one stamping project to keep! Projects are always different, and hostess can request the products or techniques demonstrated. I provide all the supplies! (Cost is FREE!)
“Take Three” Workshop: This workshop is structured like a class. Guests make three stamping projects using various techniques. This is a totally hands on workshop for those with stamping experience. (Cost is $12 per person which is waived with a $25 product order at the workshop – before shipping/handling)
Stamp A Stack: I hold Stamp-A-Stack events in my home or other location on a regular basis (check out my events). However, hostesses may chose to organize one at their home with their friends and choice of card themes. Each guest will stamp a stack of cards to have on hand for times when a card is quickly needed. (This is especially great at Christmas time!) Cards are simple in design to allow for quick creation. Envelopes are included (which can also be decorated!) Create 2 cards of 4 designs for $20.00 (8 total cards). Payment is paid upfront to hold your spot and if you have to cancel all but $5.00 will be returned. What is needed for a workshop? If you have hosted a Stampin' Up workshop in the same month (with a qualifying order), your cost is free! That is my gift to you for hosting a wonderful workshop!
Catalog Party: Consider a Catalog Party as an alternative to hosting a workshop. Share a copy of the Stampin’ Up! catalog with family and friends and collect orders from them. You will also receive two “thanks for hosting” sample cards. The idea of these cards is to use them as examples of what can be created with Stampin’ Up! products. The cards are yours to keep after the catalog party.
About Me:
I’ve ALWAYS enjoyed crafting. In 1993 I was introduced to Stampin' Up rubber stamp stamping and scrapbooking and was hooked immediately! I enjoyed hosting my own classes for several years until my children were older and after moving to an area that didn't have any demonstrators I would become a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. It has been so much fun! I have met a lot of new friends and enjoy spreading the joys of paper crafting in my area.
So what are you waiting for? Contact me today. We can book a date that works for you and begin planning the workshop. Please call me at least 4 weeks in advance so that I can have all the supplies on hand and prepared for your event.
